KNOW THE PRIESTHOOD YOU ARE ASPIRING FOR

21 young men who are aspiring to become diocesan priests in the diocese of Mangochi have been challenged to know the nature of the priesthood that they are aspiring for.

Bishop Montfort Stima of the diocese of Mangochi further requested the aspirants to make an informed decision amidst the wider choices they have at hand.

“You felt called to diocesan priesthood for a purpose, let it be a genuine call and allow the will of God be done. Your decision should not be influenced by external things, purify your motives and move on with focus and determination” emphasized the bishop.

Speaking on behalf of his friends, Luke Govati, requested the bishop to continue praying and supporting them in their vocation. He also thanked the bishop for coming to strengthen their vocation and their faith.

24 aspirants were invited to attend the ‘2018 second come and see‘ meeting from 16-19 October 2018, but only 21 turned up. The purpose of the meeting was to help the aspirants to get some more information about the life they would wish to live in the rest of their life.

“The meeting has allowed the aspirants to come together and share their experiences, to pray for their vocation and to get the much needed encouragement from priests and the bishop. Our hope is that they can now grow, renew and confirm their commitment” emphasized Fr. Christopher Sichinga, the Vocations director for the diocese of Mangochi. Those who are suitable and qualified will be recommended to join Kasina Spiritual Formation Centre in December 2018.
