Mangochi’s Catholic Health Commission has successfully implemented a Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) project at Nsanama Health Centre, thanks to the generous support of Catholic Relief Services (CRS). The project, made possible through funding from the Providence and Hilton Fund for Sisters, has enhanced the health centre’s facilities with a solar-powered water supply system, toilets, a placenta pit, and bathrooms.
During the commissioning ceremony, Fr. Davie Mambo, Vicar General of the Diocese of Mangochi, represented Bishop Montfort Stima. This initiative affirms the diocese’s commitment to improving healthcare services and promoting the well-being of the community.
Similar WASH projects have also been implemented at Namandanje and Kapire Health Facilities, further expanding the reach of this vital initiative. By investing in WASH infrastructure, the Diocese of Mangochi and CRS aim to create a healthier environment for patients, staff, and the broader community, reflecting the Catholic Church’s dedication to serving the most vulnerable populations.
