The Diocese of Mangochi, on 3 August 2025, joined His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Montfort Stima, in celebrating a remarkable milestone — 39 years of priestly ministry marked by deep faith, pastoral commitment, and selfless service to the Church and God’s people.
Born into the priesthood on 3 August 1986, Bishop Stima has served for nearly four decades with humility, wisdom, and steadfast dedication. His priestly anniversary, observed quietly yet reverently on Sunday, 3 August 2025, coincided with the closing Mass of the National Children’s Congress, which he presided over in Lilongwe, further highlighting his role as a father and shepherd to the young and the entire diocesan family.
Throughout his ministry, Bishop Stima has garnered recognition for his profound love of the Eucharist, pastoral sensitivity, and firm dedication to evangelization, formation, and social justice. Since his installation as Bishop of Mangochi in 2014, he has led the diocese with a clear vision rooted in communion, service, and mission.
Many faithful priests, religious, and laypeople across the country have expressed heartfelt gratitude to God for the bishop’s priestly witness. Personal tributes poured in across parishes and on social media, with many praying for his continued good health and spiritual vigour.
“On this joyful occasion of your 39th Priestly Anniversary, I thank God for the gift of your vocation and the unwavering dedication with which you have served the Church and our diocese,” read one message. “May the Lord bless you abundantly with renewed strength and enduring joy.”
The Diocese of Mangochi invites all the faithful to keep praying for Bishop Stima, that the Lord may strengthen him in his ministry and bless him with many more fruitful years in the Lord’s vineyard.
