145 Children Gather for Holy Childhood Apostolate Formation at Mlanga Out-Station

HOLY CHILDHOOD APOSTOLATE ENCOURAGED TO STRENGTHEN FAITH THROUGH MONTHLY FORMATION

Chidzanja Parish, Mangochi- The Parish Priest of St. Francis Parish, Chidzanja, has encouraged members of the Holy Childhood Apostolate to remain committed to their monthly gatherings, describing them as vital opportunities for spiritual growth, catechesis, and Christian fellowship.

The appeal was made during the Apostolate’s monthly formation meeting held at Mlanga Out-Station, where children from various prayer centres gathered for prayer, learning, and community-building activities. The event began with the celebration of Holy Mass presided over by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Goodson Kanyoza.

As part of the formation programme, Fr. Kanyoza led catechetical sessions based on two doctrinal topics from Questions and Answers from the Bible: “What does the Church teach about the death penalty?” and “Why does the Church oppose euthanasia?” The sessions provided the children with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the Church’s teachings on the dignity and sanctity of human life.

To reinforce the lessons, Apostolate animators conducted an interactive quiz that allowed participants to demonstrate their understanding of the topics discussed.

A total of 145 children attended the gathering, which also featured prayer activities, games, and peer learning sessions. Such monthly meetings form an integral part of the Holy Childhood Apostolate’s mission of nurturing young Catholics in faith, prayer, and missionary discipleship.

The Holy Childhood Apostolate continues to play an important role in fostering spiritual formation among children, helping them grow as active members of the Church and witnesses of the Gospel in their communities.
