Celebrating Bishop Stima and Supporting Our Seminarians: A Special Diocesan Luncheon

The Diocese of Mangochi will come together on Friday, 26 December 2025, for a joyful and grace-filled celebration marking the 68th birthday of His Lordship Bishop Montfort Stima. This special day will also mark the official conclusion of the “Msemino Aphunzire Pa Bill Yanga” campaign—a diocesan-wide fundraising initiative that targeted MK 80 million to support the education and formation of seminarians.

Running from 01st September 2025 to 30th November 2025, the campaign mobilized parishes, institutions, lay movements, and individual Catholics to invest in the future of the Church by supporting seminarians. Its impact symbolizes the unity, sacrifice, and generosity of the faithful across the Diocese of Mangochi.

The Bishop’s Day Luncheon, to be held at the Diocesan Office Complex and starting at 10:00 a.m., is both a celebration of our Bishop’s life and a thanksgiving moment for the success of this important campaign.

Participation Packages.

To ensure broad involvement, the luncheon offers the following ticket options:

  • Individual Ticket: MK 25,000
  • Table of Ten: MK 200,000
  • Corporate Sponsorship: MK 600,000

In addition to luncheon tickets, contributions are also welcomed from diocesan groups and institutions as follows:

  • Lay Movements: MK 50,000
  • Schools & Health Facilities: MK 200,000
  • Diocesan Commissions: MK 150,000

These contributions help strengthen ongoing efforts to support the formation of seminarians, future shepherds of the Church.

As we celebrate this milestone in the life of our Bishop, we are invited to renew our commitment to nurturing vocations and sustaining the pastoral mission of the Church in Malawi.

We warmly invite all clergy, religious, and lay faithful to join us—let us honour our Bishop, support our seminarians, and continue building a vibrant and mission-driven Diocese of Mangochi.
