Bishop Stima Meets the Executive Committees of AMRIM and AWRIM

On July 28, 2025, the Executive Committees of the Association of Men Religious Institutes in Malawi (AMRIM) and the Association of Women Religious Institutes in Malawi (AWRIM) in the Diocese of Mangochi had a meeting with the Rt. Rev. Montfort Stima, the Bishop of Mangochi, at the Bishop’s House in Mangochi.

This meeting highlighted the vital role that consecrated men and women play in the life of the Church, particularly as agents of evangelization. As late Pope Francis noted, “The Church needs the witness of consecrated men and women who, in the variety of their charisms, are a sign of the gratuitousness and tenderness of God” (Evangelii Gaudium, 269).

The meeting provided an opportunity for the AMRIM and AWRIM executives to collaborate with the Bishop and discuss ways to promote the Church’s mission in the Diocese of Mangochi. Through their apostolates and ministries, the members of AMRIM and AWRIM are called to bear witness to the Gospel and to serve the People of God with dedication and love.

As the Church in Malawi continues to grow and flourish, the contributions of consecrated men and women remain essential to its vitality and mission. The meeting between the AMRIM and AWRIM executives and Bishop Stima was an affirmation of the evidence of the importance of consecrated life in the Church and its role in advancing the Kingdom of God.
