DCOP Meets to Evaluate Progress and Chart New Course

The Diocesan Council of Priests (DCOP) of the Diocese of Mangochi convened a meeting at the Bishop’s House on Tuesday, 13 January 2026, to review diocesan progress and set priorities for the way forward.

The meeting brought together priests heading various diocesan commissions, alongside Deans representing the faithful from the diocese’s five deaneries. The focus of the gathering was to evaluate ongoing pastoral and administrative initiatives and to outline strategic plans for the future.

During the session, key diocesan commissions and apostolates presented evaluation reports and proposed roadmaps. These included submissions from the Social Development Directorate, the Pastoral Commission, and the Diocesan Finance Directorate. The reports were intended to guide policy formulation and inform resolutions that support the Bishop in the governance of the diocese.

The DCOP serves as an important advisory body to the Bishop on matters of pastoral welfare and diocesan administration, in accordance with Canon 495 of the Code of Canon Law. Its core mission is to promote the pastoral good of the People of God within the Diocese of Mangochi.
