Priests Commissioned to New Pastoral and Missionary Roles across the Diocese
Mangochi, 2 August 2025 – The Diocese of Mangochi has announced the appointment of Fr. Emmanuel Malipa to Radio Maria Malawi, a move underscoring the Church’s renewed commitment to evangelization through Catholic media.
The announcement was made in an official communication released by the Diocesan Communications Office, following the directive of Rt. Rev. Montfort Stima, Bishop of Mangochi. Fr. Malipa is entrusted with the responsibility of promoting the Gospel through Radio Maria’s wide-reaching platform.
Promoting the Gospel through the Airwaves
Fr. Malipa’s appointment to Radio Maria emphasizes the Diocese’s strategic focus on media as an effective pastoral tool in today’s digital and communication-driven world. As a priest dedicated to the Church’s mission, he is expected to lead programming that nurtures faith, encourages prayer, and shapes Christian consciences among the station’s listeners.
Radio Maria Malawi has played a vital role in evangelizing remote communities, supporting family life, and nurturing the spiritual growth of the faithful. Fr. Malipa’s new role will enhance the station’s mission of being “a Christian voice in your Home!”
Strengthening the Diocesan Mission
The appointment of Fr. Malipa is one among several made by Bishop Stima as part of the ongoing pastoral mission of the Diocese. These appointments aim to refresh parish communities, strengthen vocations, and promote theological formation.
Among the other clergy appointed are:
- Fr. Edwin Lambulira – Assigned to Kachebere Major Seminary.
- Fr. Steven Pondani – Appointed Parish Priest of Kankao Parish.
- Fr. Frank Chingale – To reside at Kankao Parish while completing a PhD research project.
- Fr. Paul Rappozo – Appointed Parish Priest of St. Mary’s, Ntaja.
- Fr. Kizito Khauya – Appointed Parish Priest of Koche Parish.
- Fr. Lawrence Kayange – Appointed Curate of Kapire Parish and concurrently Director of Vocations.
- Fr. Basilio Nsuli – Appointed Rector of St. Paul the Apostle Seminary.
- Fr. Stephen Namame – Appointed National Chaplain of the Malawi Police.
