Mangochi, Malawi – Demonstrating dedication and compassion for the vulnerable, the apostolate ‘Live Christ Share Christ’ recently provided sight to 71 children and 10 adults in the community around St. Paul the Apostle Seminary on January 10, 2026.
Through its ‘No One in Need’ pillar, the apostolate partnered with Good Vision Glasses, a Blantyre-based NGO, to host a free Eye Testing Camp within the seminary campus. The initiative aimed to identify and address eye problems early, preventing complications and promoting overall well-being.
According to data from the camp, 15 children received eye glasses, while two were diagnosed with lens issues requiring specialized treatment. Sr. Stephanie De Sousa, coordinator of the initiative, expressed her gratitude to Good Vision Glasses for their prompt response to her request, saying, “It will go a long way in assisting the children. It is always better to identify eye problems early and treat them early, rather than waiting until they develop into complicated cases.”
The camp’s success was made possible through financial support from friends in Goa and Mumbai, India, embodying the spirit of Pope Francis’ exhortation to “go forth and bring Christ to all” (Evangelii Gaudium, 264).
As the apostolate continues to embody the values of compassion and service, this initiative serves as a shining light of hope for those in need, demonstrating the transformative power of faith in action.
