15th October is as Mother’s Day. This is the day when people especially women celebrate motherhood.

This year of 2022, the diocese of Mangochi arranged that these Catholic Women should celebrate this day by starting with the Eucharistic celebration in their respective parishes. On this day, the Catholic women at St. Augustine’s (Mangochi) cathedral had their Eucharistic celebration, which started at 8:00am and was led by Fr. Steven Namame, an administrator of Mangochi Cathedral. In his remarks, Fr. Namame said that the women have got a huge responsibility in their families, in the Church and also in the country and they deserve our prayers.

In her remarks, the chairperson of the Catholic Woman Organization (CWO) of Mangochi Cathedral parish, Mrs. Benedetto Kameza agreed with Fr. Namame, to say that women play an important role in raising children to be morally good and become helpful in the Church and to the world. As such, they deserve to be encouraged and prayed for. She advised her fellow women to show good examples in their families and at their churches as Mary the Mother of Jesus did.

After having the Eucharistic celebration, these women had time to interact and some of them went to the lake.
