Nankhwali Health Centre Marks World Nurses Day with Gesture of Compassion

Nankhwali, Mangochi – In solidarity with the universal Church’s ministry of healing and in commemoration of World Nurses Day, observed annually on May 12, staff at Nankhwali Health Centre, a Catholic institution in the Diocese of Mangochi, joined the global nursing fraternity to mark the occasion.

The celebration culminated in an act of corporal mercy, as the nurses donated a variety of items to mothers in the post-natal ward. This charitable gesture was made possible through the benevolence of Rev. Fr. Phillip Polokera.

The management and staff of Nankhwali Health Centre express profound gratitude to Fr. Polokera for his pastoral solicitude and thank him for choosing both the health facility and the wider Nankhwali community as beneficiaries of his generosity.

World Nurses Day, established in honor of St. Florence Nightingale, recognizes the vital role of nurses in promoting the dignity of life and in advancing the healing mission of Christ through healthcare.
