NANKHWALI — LifeNet International has been commended for its continued partnership and support to Nankhwali Health Centre.
Speaking during a handover ceremony held last Thursday, Fr. Ted Chigamba, Administrator of Nankhwali Health Centre, hailed LifeNet International for the timely donation of a state-of-the-art ultrasound scanner to the facility’s maternity unit.
Receiving the equipment, Fr. Chigamba expressed gratitude to LifeNet International, noting that the scanner would significantly enhance maternal health services at the centre.
“The scanner will improve the quality of maternal services in this facility and ensure safer care for mothers and babies,” he said.
Fr. Chigamba also acknowledged the support of the Bishop of the Diocese of Mangochi, His Lordship Bishop Montfort Stima, for facilitating partnership agreements with both local and international private sector organisations.
In his remarks, the In-Charge of Nankhwali Health Centre assured the donors that the equipment would be properly utilised and maintained to benefit the community.
An ultrasound scan uses sound waves to create images of a developing baby and the womb. The procedure is safe and painless.
