The Diocese of Mangochi has announced a series of clerical appointments and transfers, effective 1 June 2026, aimed at strengthening pastoral care and enhancing service delivery across its parishes and pastoral centres.
In an official communication, the Local Ordinary, Bishop Montfort Stima, outlined the changes as part of the Diocese’s ongoing commitment to pastoral renewal and effective administration.
According to the Diocesan Communications Office, the following appointments have been made:
- Saulos Chimbalanga has been appointed Parish Priest of Masuku Parish.
- Lazarus Gilevulo will serve at Ulongwe Pastoral Centre as a Full-time Judicial Vicar.
- Moses Mwitha has been assigned as Assistant Priest at Mangochi Cathedral.
- Lucius Picardo has been appointed Assistant Priest at Kankao Parish.
Bishop Stima congratulated the priests entrusted with new responsibilities and expressed gratitude to those who have served faithfully in their previous assignments.
“I congratulate all those taking up new appointments and sincerely thank those who have served with dedication and sacrifice. I impart my blessings upon you,” he said.
These appointments reflect the Diocese’s continued dedication to its pastoral mission and its commitment to serving the People of God with renewed zeal and fidelity.
